Back in the day when it was first launched in America, the Audi RS6 Avant featured a top speed of 186 miles per hour – well over 100 mph faster than the Ferrari California – and at the time of its launch, it was also one of the most technologically advanced cars on the market. It was a full six times faster than the Honda Accord, which at the time was considered to be the most efficient car in the US.
In the wake of the release of the RS6, however, it became clear that the RS6 was no longer the best selling car in America. Instead, it became clear that there was a need for a change of direction in the company's product range.
The reason behind the decision to replace the RS6 with the RS7 is simple: performance. As soon as the new model was launched, many car enthusiasts saw that it was faster and better looking than the current model. However, it was also cheaper.
So far, the RS7 has been released in America only. However, it is set to be released across Europe in a matter of days. Its target audience is still very much the young and the elite, but it is likely to cross the line into the mainstream quickly.
So what should you expect from your RS6 Avant? For starters, you should expect a great power output. The current RS5 model tops out at a relatively modest 170 horsepower. With the RS7, though, it is expected to reach upwards of 225 horsepower, which means that it is faster and much more powerful than any of the models that came before it.
In addition, you should expect to find a transmission that features an RSS function. With the RSS, the car owner can program the car according to his preferences. It could be customised so that the driver would feel as if he were driving a sports car. He could be able to switch to manual transmission mode whenever he wants and so on and so forth.
There is a possibility that the RS6 might not be able to use an RSS system due to the high speed it is intended to operate at. But at least that aspect would be less of a problem. In terms of acceleration, the RS5 model tops out at just over 90 miles per hour, while the RS7 would get you there in just over 100 miles.
And what about the interior of your RS6 Avant? If you are looking for a high end interior, then the RS7 model might be what you want. The RS5 model is now available with an all-wheel drive feature and some of the best seats available in the country. All of these features add to the RS7's status, especially if you are looking for a car which will have great comfort and luxury.
The RS6 Avant, too, is likely to offer great comfort. The interior is said to be one of the best in terms of quality, but as with all cars, it would need maintenance. The RS5 model is said to cost around thirty thousand, while the RS7 may cost around forty thousand. But if you do not mind the expense, then you would be doing yourself a big favor by getting your hands on the RS7 model.
