With the horsepower of a turbocharged 488 Pista beneath the hood of the new Ferrari F8 Tribute, the new Ferrari GTB has its rival in the range of road going supercars. But before heading out on the Fiorano test track and driving the F8 Tribute on Ferrari's first official Fiorano track day, and more importantly, getting behind the wheel of such an advanced automobile, had the chance to get behind the wheel of this impressive vehicle for a few hours.
The Ferrari F8 Tribute was designed with the ultimate road user in mind – a powerful V12 that can easily push through the crowded traffic jam with ease. With a weighty power delivery, quick acceleration, great handling, superb brakes, a high-tech interior design, and a wide range of unique styling and finishes, it is clear that the new Ferrari F8 Tribute is a road car for the ages.
Although the Ferrari F8 Tribute has been designed with speed and performance in mind, it also offers a stylish, classy look that is not meant for highway cruising. The new Ferrari Tribute was inspired by the Ferrari Enzo, as it shares many of its characteristics and traits. However, the Tribute has been designed for the everyday commuter who want to take on the open road, rather than simply take pleasure in the luxury and prestige of the famous Italian manufacturer.
To understand the Ferrari F8 Tribute's unique architecture, you need to understand the concept of the Italian automobile manufacturing company. Like its famous predecessors, the new Ferrari Tribute uses a revolutionary two-stage hybrid, two-cylinder engine that has a twin-carb, twin-overhead camshaft configuration. The dual overhead camshaft configuration gives it the ability to make low torque, but high horsepower, resulting in a very efficient and smooth drive system.
The car's front end is particularly unique. It is essentially the same layout as the standard Ferrari Enzo, but with a number of key differences. The new Ferrari F8T has a front bumper that has a lower profile, while the headlights are located in the side vents, rather than atop the hood.
The back of the vehicle has been modified to create a more aggressive, muscular stance. The rear bumper now features a “turbine sound system”, creating an exhaust-driven, aggressive sound that can be heard when the car approaches an area with heavy engine exhaust noise. The exhaust pipes are mounted behind the rear bumper, where they exit onto the tailpipe.
The new Ferrari Tribute also has two carbon fiber “scalloped” side fins and rear diffusers, which serve to increase down force and increase braking effectiveness. This creates a natural down force through the main strut structure, which is much stronger than the traditional strut/link design.
The suspension system of the Ferrari F8 Tribute uses a MacPherson strut system with Bilstein shocks. These shocks have been specifically adapted for use in this vehicle, allowing for a firm and reliable ride with superb stability. Both the front and rear coil over leaf springs are made of titanium, as is the rear stabilizer bar.
The new Ferrari F8 Tributo also uses a roll cage to protect the driver and passenger from any accident injuries caused by the car during normal operation. Its new rear diffuser can be adjusted from full-lock to half-lock, to allow for a lower center of gravity.
The Ferrari F8 Tributo also uses a hydraulic system, which allows the rear seats to be raised, either completely or partially, so that the driver can enter or leave the car. The seatbelt buckle also contains the control for the lower opening of the trunk, allowing for easy access to the storage compartment without having to manually release the seat belt.
In addition to all of these unique components, the new body kit comes with a custom hood and air curtains. This is an important feature for those who like to modify their vehicle to match with its unique design. The car's exterior is also modified to give it a more aggressive look.
The Ferrari F8 Tributo is truly one of a kind, with its unique styling and performance. This special edition of the Ferrari Enzo is expected to be sold for between ten thousand and twenty-five thousand dollars, depending on the year.
