As with any new hybrid system, however, there are a number of possible drawbacks that should be considered before purchasing the system. For one thing, the electric motor requires more battery charge to operate and can be a drain on your current power supply.
Another drawback is that the Toyota hybrid Synergy Drive system has a lower gas mileage rating than some of the more traditional hybrid systems. The battery pack itself is also smaller than some of the other systems. However, overall, the Toyota hybrid Synergy Drive system is a very well designed, effective and dependable hybrid electric system that allow the owner of the car to enjoy greater fuel economy and better overall performance from their vehicle.
