The new, revised and improved Holden Barina is one of the most desirable and powerful vehicles in Australia. Powered by the new and improved Ford Focus turbocharged engine, the Barina has gained considerable ground over its predecessors such as the old Barina Turbo and the current Barina Sport. Now featuring the same 1.3-liter turbo-four engine that the local Ford Focus engine is powered by, the Barina RS also comes with a five-speed manual gearbox with sport-oriented gear ratios and an optional five-speed automatic transmission, both recording power output of 101kW and 170Nm of torque.
The barina's new and improved turbo engine features a high compression ratio, which helps to improve fuel economy and power. With a more powerful engine, the Barina has better acceleration, more power and better top speed capabilities. The new engine is not just about improved performance and power, though. It also comes with an improved cooling system and allows for a better balance of weight and chassis.
The Barina has also been designed with modern and efficient emissions standards in mind. With a low profile exhaust system, the exhaust system on the Barina is no longer restrictive. Its exhaust pipes are now a fraction of a millimetre apart from each other. These changes help the Barina be both quieter and cleaner, with the exhaust pipe running straight to the tailpipes, where it then exits to the exhaust manifold. All of these changes help to reduce noise pollution that emanates from the engine, helping to reduce the need for noise-emitting devices and emissions testing at various emission standards.
The Barina has also been redesigned. The suspension geometry has been revised to further increase steering control while reducing the car's body roll. To increase road stability, the body mounting systems have also been revised. In order to make the Barina more aerodynamic, the front bumper has been modified. It has been made wider, with the front bumper now being placed higher up on the vehicle.
The brakes on the Barina have also been revised. The brake calipers have received a larger diameter, which has helped in increasing braking performance, especially on wet surfaces. New rotors have also been fitted to the braking system.
As you can see, the modifications have led to a more potent and powerful Barina. Now, the Barinas in Australia have evolved and adapted to their environment, with an improved handling as well as with a more dynamic drive.
